It is our concern not only to produce films but also to get them onto the screen. The Rostock Film Festival and the student’s film festival Golden Toaster are an important aspect of the Rostock film scene.
In 2001 and 2002 Media Workshop was also hosting the Federal Festival Youth and Video together with the German Children and Youth Film Centre which was set in the Rostock College for Music and Theatre.
Since 2002 we also organise the regional competition „Encounters“ together with Rostock Foreigner’s Council, and we support the regional competition film and video of the German Union of Film and Video Amateurs BDFA.
The Federal competition Young Film of the BDFA took place under the name FiSH 04 – Festival in the City Port for the first time in 2004 and will be continued in 2005.
